Esapharma Oranvate Gel is a topical medication containing 0.05% clobetasol propionate, a potent corticosteroid used to treat inflammatory skin conditions such as eczema, psoriasis, and lichen planus.
Description:
Active Ingredient: Clobetasol Propionate (0.05%) – a powerful corticosteroid with strong anti-inflammatory properties.
Formulation:Includes propylene glycol, carbomer, sodium hydroxide, and E110 orange fragrance, ensuring ease of application and effective absorption.
Indications:Specially formulated for corticosteroid-responsive dermatoses, providing relief from inflammation and pruritus.
Side Effects:
When applied to the face, especially in women, potential side effects may include:
Local Effects:Burning or stinging sensation.
Irritation, dryness, or redness. Skin atrophy (thinning of the skin). Telangiectasia (visible small blood vessels). Systemic Effects:With prolonged use, there is a risk of hypothalamic-pituitary-adrenal (HPA) axis suppression, potentially leading to Cushing’s syndrome.
Precautions:
Limit use to 2 consecutive weeks to prevent suppression of the HPA axis. Avoid application on the face, groin, or axillae, and do not use with occlusive dressings. Not recommended for children under 12 years due to a higher risk of systemic absorption and associated adverse effects. Patients with hypersensitivity to any of the gel’s components should not use this product.
Usage Guidelines:
1. Apply a thin layer to the affected area twice daily or as prescribed by a physician.
2. Do not exceed 50g per week to avoid potential side effects.
3. Avoid prolonged use to minimize the risk of adverse effects.
Note: Always consult with a healthcare professional before starting any new medication to ensure it is appropriate for your condition and to discuss potential risks and benefits.
